Lover of Jesus.
Whitney embarked on the most rewarding experience of her life in the summer of 2011. God called her on a Mission Trip to the Philippines where she spent everyday visiting schools with the sole purpose of spreading the word of the Gospel with students. There she saw thousands of Filipinos come to know Jesus and she felt God begin to call her into ministry. “I prayed that God would give me a sign and one night in the Philippines I woke up with a clear message from God ‘Do not be consumed by a show, be consumed by God.’ The rest of my time in the Philippines confirmed God’s call on my heart even more.” Despite her success in entertainment her experiences in the Philippines have led her to leave the Johnny & Jayde Morning Show, the #1 Top 40 radio show in Central Florida, to pursue evangelical work.
After much prayer, Whitney has joined the staff with CRU (formerly Campus Crusade for Christ International) and has been sharing the gospel of Christ with teenagers ever since. Her ministry work has included visiting schools and churches around the country to speak publicly about her relationship with Jesus, His impact on her life and how to know God personally. She has also worked with local schools to establish clubs that are based around forming Christ centered relationships and reaching the lost. God called Whitney back to the Philippines in January of 2012 and she will continue to do global missions.
Whitney has always enjoyed being a part of the Central Florida Community. She has a passion for giving back donating her time and resources wherever possible. She has also been an emcee for many charity events and walks including the American Cancer Foundation’s Relay for Life. After losing one of her longest and dearest friends to suicide in 2010, Whitney founded Donald L. DeVane Foundation, which raises awareness and support for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
